I got a nice surprise in the post when I got home this evening. That’s the benefit of ordering from abroad; you often forget what you’ve ordered by the time it arrives.
A little while back, I heard about Lokai bracelets from a friend, and thought the sentiment behind them was incredible… So naturally in my impulsive nature, I bought some.
Last night, I was reading Matt Haig’s Reasons to Stay Alive (review & giveaway coming soon), and he describes depression in the way Churchill did – as a black dog. Just as a I began to drift to sleep, my brain latched on to that metaphor, and my latest poem was born. Luckily, I wrote this one down… I will never stop being surprised by the power of words.
